Student paper contest

Since 2008, CEDRAT organizes a Paper contest to encourage students pursuing a master or a doctorate degree to prepare quality technical papers using CEDRAT’s simulation program(s)* and to stimulate interest in the academic community of users.

The award is delivered within the framework of the FLUX Users Conference, held every year in Europe. The pre-selected candidates have the opportunity to present their paper at the conference during a poster session.

The choice of suitable topics includes:

  • Rotating Machines
  • Sensors
  • Heat treatment
  • Linear Actuators                         
  • Coils and Transformers
  • Non destructive testing
  • Power Systems

  • Ship Magnetisation
  • Thermal analysis
  • Superconductivity
  • Recording Heads
  • EMC
  • ..... 

 

* Eligible simulation programs are FLUX, Portunus, InCa3D, Motor-CAD, Speed and PSCAD

2009 Results

The 2009 edition of the Cedrat Student Paper Contest awarded Ms Elisabetta Sieni, PhD student at the University of Padova (Italy) for her paper on the Evaluation of the exposure to magnetic field generated by welding equipment with reference to induced current density.

 

2008 Results

For year 2008, Javier Rosero, PHD student at the Technical University of Catalunya, has been rewarded for his paper on Simulation and fault detection in PMSM under Dynamic conditions.
